In March 2026, Vivien Vetterkind graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design from the AMD Akademie Mode & Design in Düsseldorf. In her work, she primarily explores the influence of music and urban cultures on fashion, experimental material processing, and the interplay between nostalgia and modernity. Sustainability and in-depth research into socio-cultural themes form the core of every collection. 

Her graduation collection, “Neighborhaute Couture – Resonanzbruch samt Flüsterasphalt,” explores the relationship between streetwear and couture through the lens of bricolage, upcycling, and artisanal techniques. Inspired by African-American hip-hop and British punk of the early 1980s, as well as their dialogue with the luxury industry, the collection reinterprets existing garments and materials to create a hybrid aesthetic. Experimental material manipulations incorporating non-textile elements, oversized silhouettes, and gender-fluid designs challenge traditional boundaries between exclusivity and everyday wear.

The collection pays homage to the cultural origins of street style and musical subcultures and explores themes such as transformation and the creative coexistence of apparent paradoxes.
