CLOSEST TO YOU – Fachhochschule Bielefeld

CLOSEST TO YOU – The collection visualizes the relationship between people and their clothing, especially their favorite pieces. It highlights the interaction of bodies, garments, emotions, and identities. Clothing is understood here as an extension of the self – as a stylistic shell and a canvas for expressing values, memories, interests, and emotions. Its cultural and social significance is particularly evident in youth cultures. The central inspiration comes from the punk and straight edge movements of the 1980s.

Through my studies at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, I was able to explore my passion for design and creativity, and I discovered fashion as a form of expression. I am particularly fascinated by the significance that clothing and fashion hold within a social and cultural context. It has become both my goal and my mission to use design to explore and deepen the relationship between people and their clothing. Alongside working with materials, print, and experimental pattern design — areas for which I have developed a deep passion — I have also focused on the conscious and mindful engagement with clothing. Since graduating, I have been working as a designer for a streetwear label and greatly enjoy creating garments that reach a wide audience and accompany them in their everyday lives.
