Ich bin Paul Kadjo, Modedesigner und Modeaktivist. Geboren in Deutschland und aufgewachsen in der Elfenbeinküste, habe ich einen binationalen Hintergrund. Als deutschivorischer Nachwuchsdesigner will ich in der Diaspora ein Zeichen setzen und einen internationalen Einfluss bewirken. Ich denke, dass es einen besseren Weg gibt textile Flächen und Mode in Zukunft zu gestalten und dass die positiven Entscheidungen, die wir alle treffen, egal wie klein diese sind, einen großen Einfluss auf unsere persönliche Gesundheit, die Gesundheit anderer Lebewesen und unseres Planeten haben können. Ausgehend vom Rohstoff habe ich eine Idee, wie zukunftsfähige Mode gestaltet werden kann. Mode mit Coolness, Style und Charakter – Mode, die sichtbar mehr ist.

PAUL KADJO® eine ethische Modemarke die zwei Nationen vereint. Ihre afro-futuristische Designsprache reflektiert historische sowie zeitgenössische Anliegen von People of Color und formt eine interkulturelle Verbindung – eine harmonische und nachhaltige Beziehung zwischen schwarz und weiß. Die Modemarke ist Ausdruck interkultureller Begegnung in Verbundenheit mit der Natur und versteht sich als „Change Agent“ in der Modewelt.

Das Konzept der Marke besteht aus insgesamt vier Modelinien. Ausgehend vom Upcycling-Gedanken, der Erweiterung des Lebenszyklusses bereits vorhandener Rohstoffe und Textilien, formt die Artisan Linie das Couture Genre von PAUL KADJO®. Hier entstehen einzigartige High End Kollektionsteile, die den klassischen Gedanken von Mode Design verfolgen – die Generierung von Ideen als Antwort auf gesellschaftliche Fragen und Konflikte.

Der normative, transformative Anspruch der Nachhaltigkeit macht diese zu einem zentralen Akteur in der Transformation der Mode zu einer zukunftsfähigen Mode. Die menschlichen und nicht menschlichen Akteure tragen eine große Verantwortung, die nicht nur das Überleben dieses komplexen Systems sichern können. Die erste Kollektion der Artisan Linie „The Spirit Between Bodies And Objects“ definiert den Geist zwischen Körper und Objekt, der dafür brennt, durch das Überleben der Mode auch das Überleben seiner eigenen Existenz zu sichern.

„The Spirit Between Bodies And Objects“ besteht aus grundlegend 8 Outfits mit einigen Accessoires, die für gesamtheitliche Variationen sorgen. Die verwendeten Rohstoffe und Textilien reichen von synthetischen Fasern – wie Kunstleder, Organza oder Polyester – bis hin zu natürlichen Fasern – wie Baumwolle, Leinen oder Echtleder. Eine Vielfalt, die durch Flecht- und weiteren Oberflächentechniken sowie lebendige Farben gestützt wird, und die spirituelle und multikulturelle Identität von Designer und Marke widerspiegelt.



I‘m Paul Kadjo, a fashion designer and fashion activist. Born in Germany and raised in Ivory Coast, I have a binational background. As a young german-ivorian designer I want to set an example in the diaspora and have an international impact. I think there is a better way to design textiles and fashion in the future and that the positive decisions we all make, no matter how small, can have a major impact on our personal health, the health of other living beings and our planet. Based on the raw material, I have an idea of how sustainable fashion can be designed. Fashion with coolness, style and character – fashion that is visibly more.

PAUL KADJO® an ethical fashion brand that unites two nations. Their afro-futuristic design language reflects historical as well as contemporary concerns of People of Color and forms an intercultural connection – a harmonious and sustainable relationship between black and white. The fashion brand is an expression of intercultural encounters in connection with nature and sees itself as a „change agent“ in the fashion world. The brand‘s concept consists a total of four clothing lines. Based on the upcycling idea, the expansion of the life cycle of already existing raw materials and textiles, the Artisan line shapes the couture genre of PAUL KADJO®. This is where unique high-end collection items are created that follow the classic idea of fashion design – the generation of ideas as an answer to social questions and conflicts.

The normative, transformative claim of sustainability makes it a central actor in the transformation of fashion into sustainable fashion. The human and non-human actors bear a great responsibility, which can not only ensure the survival of this complex system. The first collection of the Artisan line „The Spirit Between Bodies And Objects“ defines the spirit between body and object, which burns to ensure the survival of its own existence through the survival of fashion. “The Spirit Between Bodies And Objects” basically consists of 8 outfits with a few accessories that provide holistic variations.
