THEIR SILENCE, OUR SCREAM – Hochschule Hannover

My name is Mozhdeh Saraji, and I came to Germany to follow a dream stitched deep into my soul to study fashion design. Since I was young, I longed to walk alongside designers, to live in a world where creativity breathes life into fabric, form, and feeling. When I first began my journey in fashion, I discovered something profound: I don’t just want to make clothes  I want to tell stories. Stories woven with meaning, draped in emotion, and shaped by truth. My collection, The Silence or Scream, is born from that desire. It speaks of the unspoken , the quiet battles and loud struggles that women face. Each outfit is a voice, a reflection, a response  One garment for each pain, each question, each strength. In this way, fashion becomes more than beauty. It becomes connection. It becomes purpose. One of the deepest inspirations behind my collection was my grandmother . a woman of quiet strength and unspoken stories. There is an outfit in this collection that belongs to her, not just in memory, but in spirit. I remember the moment clearly: she held my hand, her voice trembling with truth, and she said, “Be my voice. Don’t stay silent like I did.” As she spoke, I looked down at her hand . the delicate map of wrinkles that held decades of silence, of resilience. Those wrinkles became my fabric. Their lines now live in the folds and texture of that garment. It is more than just clothing  it is her story, it is her scream. This collection, Their Silence our Scream, is for every woman who has felt unheard. It is a cry against the walls built by discrimination. against judgment for sexuality, appearance, body, or choice. Through these pieces, I want us to remember: we are louder together. We are stronger when we don’t let the world reduce us. We are more than what they try to define us by. And we will not be silent.
