Über Melanie Parzenczewski

Melanie Parzenczewski, geboren in Augsburg und mit deutschen, polnischen und italienischen Wurzeln, hat 2024 ihr Modedesignstudium an der HTW Berlin mit dem Bachelor abgeschlossen. Sie erforscht die Verbindung zwischen Herkunft und Handwerk. Ihre Entwürfe greifen fast vergessene Techniken wie das Klöppeln auf und spiegeln das handwerkliche Erbe ihrer Familie, zu der Weber und Schuhmacher gehörten. In ihrer Arbeit wird Vergangenheit nicht konserviert, sondern in eine lebendige und greifbare Sprache der Selbstverortung übersetzt.

Über die Kollektion Læ[ga]cy
Die Kollektion „Læ[ga]cy“ ist eine Reflexion über das reiche Erbe der europäischen Spitzenkunst und stellt zugleich eine zentrale Frage: Wie kann alte und fast vergessene Handwerkskunst in einer Zeit der Massenproduktion und des schnellen Wandels neue Relevanz gewinnen? Die Kollektion ist überwiegend in Handarbeit entstanden, durch Klöppeln und geformtes Weben.

„Læ[ga]cy“ wird so zu einem stillen Manifest für Entschleunigung, Sorgfalt und Kontinuität. Sie würdigt die unsichtbare Arbeit der Hände und stellt der Flüchtigkeit von Fast Fashion Beständigkeit und Intention entgegen. „Lace is formed from the absence of substance; it is imagined in the spaces between the threads. About Melanie Parzenczewski
Melanie, born in Augsburg with German, Polish, and Italian roots, completed her fashion design studies with a bachelor’s degree at HTW Berlin in 2024. She explores the connection between heritage and craftsmanship. Her designs revive nearly forgotten techniques like bobbin lace and reflect the artisanal legacy of her family, which include weavers and shoemakers. In her work, the past is not preserved but transformed into a living, tangible language of self-expression.

About the Collection Læ[ga]cy The “Læ[ga]cy” collection is a reflection on the great legacy of European lace-making and at the same time poses a central question: How can old and almost forgotten craftsmanship gain new relevance in a time of mass production and rapid change? The collection is mainly made by hand, using bobbin lace and shaped weaving. “Læ[ga]cy” thus becomes a silent manifesto for deceleration, care, and continuity. It honors the invisible work of hands and contrasts the fleeting nature of fast fashion with consistency and intention.
