Leonie Hohenlohe @leonever is a fashion designer from Munich and a graduate of the Fashion Design programme at HAW Hamburg. Her work approaches fashion as a lens through which broader social and cultural developments can be examined. Inspired by popular culture, digital media, and shifting cultural narratives, she investigates the role of clothing and image-making in shaping identity, gender, and belonging. Combining conceptual research with prêt-à-porter, she translates sociological, historical, and cultural observations into wearable designs. Organic shapes, material transformation, and an analytical engagement with the zeitgeist define her practice.

This collection examines the representation of femininity within Western visual culture and traces the persistence of female archetypes across history. Drawing connections between religious iconography, historical ideals of femininity, and contemporary forms of digital self representation, it explores how images shape cultural understandings of gender, identity, and social belonging. Through the lens of fashion, the project investigates the relationship between visual culture and power, questioning how ideals of femininity are constructed, reproduced, and transformed over time. By placing historical narratives in dialogue with contemporary phenomena such as influencer culture, wellness aesthetics, and online self branding, the collection reflects on the ways gendered identities continue to be negotiated in an era marked by both social progress and cultural backlash.
