The bachelor’s collection “UNWANTED REWANTED” by Jasmin Gerth combines aviation-inspired design with the functional workwear aesthetics. Inspired by vintage pilot uniforms, aircraft details and the industrial world of mechanical engineering, the collection features avant-garde looks with a raw, modern vibe. Characteristic of the collection are a variety of pockets, including unusual pocket placements, raw edges and perfectly tailored pieces with robust seams stand in contrast. These elements symbolize the unfinished aesthetic of technical development processes, while the high-quality craftsmanship conveys stability and durability. Asymmetrical cuts and dividing seams lend the designs movement and structure.
Special materials such as reflective coated linen mixed fabric, thermochromic fabric that changes colour in response to heat and washed merino wool create innovative surfaces and exciting visual effects. Prints inspired by oxygen helmets and orders of honor reference classic aviation culture.
A key focus of the collection is sustainability: All designs are created from unused fabrics from the warehouse of Studio Rundholz GmbH. In this way, discarded materials are reinterpreted and transformed into modern, experimental fashion. The collection demonstrates how creative re-use, high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design come together.
Jasmin Gerth is a fashion design engineer with a passion for avant-garde fashion, experimental tailoring and creative concepts. She is particularly inspired by the opportunity to translate themes such as aviation, industrial aesthetics and functionality into modern designs. Sustainability plays an important role in this – especially in light of today’s overproduction in the fashion industry. Nevertheless, she is convinced that sustainable fashion should not lose its creative and artistic value.
Her designs combine wearable everyday fashion with extraordinary, artistic elements, striking a balance between function and the avant-garde. She places a special focus on high-quality craftsmanship and intricately constructed cuts. She has been fascinated by fashion since childhood – she experimented with unusual combinations at an early age and developed a flair for individual looks.
For her future, she hopes to work as a designer in the avant-garde field, take on creative challenges and continue to experiment with shapes, materials and new ideas.
