Inci Mezgit is a 26 year old fashion designer based in Berlin, born and raised in Turkiye. From a young age, she developed a deep-seated passion for the realms of art and fashion.

Her work throughout her studies focuses on exploring her cultural heritage through the lens of deconstruction. She seeks to capture both the beauty and the pain of her own history and culture.

THE FALL,, explores how the traditional imperial harem, instead of disappearing with modernization, expanded into the public space and transformed the entire society into a mechanism of surveillance. The project investigates how women did not remain passive against restrictive dress laws, but instead turned these state limitations into a space of resistance by blending them with Western cuts in their daily style. In the collection, this struggle evolves from sharp, asymmetric shoulders representing institutional power and pressure, toward fluid and deconstructive forms that symbolize liberation. The collection is a modern textile narrative about the invisible walls of the harem and how women used fashion as a shield to rebel against these boundaries.
