Artists’ Fear – Hochschule Reutlingen

Artists’ Fear explores the anxiety of rejection, invisibility, and lack of recognition within creative work. The collection is based on a recurring cycle of production, presentation, and rejection, which forms its conceptual foundation. Structured silhouettes, folds, and controlled forms translate these experiences into garments. Rather than treating fear as paralysis, the project understands it as a productive force that shapes and drives creative practice. An accompanying animation extends the concept by visualizing this cycle as a continuous loop of application, rejection, and renewal.

Hannes Schaller is a graduate of Reutlingen University. His work combines conceptual thinking, material exploration, and wearable design. He is interested in questions of responsibility, value, and the structures that shape fashion. By combining critical reflection with a systematic design approach, he develops work that examines the role of the designer within these systems.
