WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF? – AMD Akademie Mode & Design

In today’s complex society and political landscape, many individuals find themselves adrift, aiming for more fulfilment and purpose. Cults, or cult like groups centred around a charismatic leader, prey on these vulnerabilities, luring individuals into their fold to serve their will. Often shaped by mental and physical abuse, cult members become obedient to their leaders, who apply considerable control over them. Ex-members and the media expose the dark realities of cult practices, warning of the rampant abuse of power that can lead to horrifying outcomes such as mutilation, child abuse, murder, or mass suicide.

Through my collection, I aim to explore the manipulative tactics employed by destructive cults.

Therefore I’ve created a fictional cult with six individual members who act as representatives for cult ideology, its inner structures and their applied persuasion techniques.

The outfits don’t just exaggerate the characters in a conceptually overdrawn manner; instead, they offer a modern, elevated and redefined take on readyto- wear fashion.
