Lo que se hereda no se roba – FHNW - Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel

For this presentation, I bring together my thesis collection Lo que se hereda no se roba and pieces from my brand. The collection was originally built from the influences and interests that have shaped me and continue to shape me today: my family, Argentine culture, bobbin lace, and Formula One. Although these references may seem unrelated, they are connected through ideas of resilience, dedication, and the constant desire to improve. More than visually, they are linked through the values they represent to me. The work combines traditional gaucho garments, elevated through tailoring and my obsession with what I consider “elegant,” with my grandmother’s handmade bobbin lace, translated into different materialities such as prints and leather, alongside the precision and technical aesthetics of racing. Through contrasts in silhouette, material, and styling, I explore the meeting point between tradition and speed, softness and strength, heritage and ambition. For Neo.Fashion Berlin, I use my interest on styling as a way of looking at the collection from a different angle. By creating new combinations and introducing elements from my brand, lingerie-roots, I explore how these pieces can take on a different character from their original thesis presentation, while continuing my interest in clashing references and building a visual language that feels distinctly my own.
