Azura Barber - Hochschule Macromedia Berlin-Hamburg
the town where only i am missing – Hochschule Macromedia Berlin-Hamburg
azura redirects emotion and fictional storytelling through textural silhouettes
that often encapsulate a feeling of otherness and melancholy. Crafting
clothes for people, and for their hearts, azura focuses on knitted techniques
as well as using materials from the earth.
This collection explores the senses of neurodivergence through a recount of childhood. It is isolation encapsulated by textures and emotions that relay the universe of a child that feels out of place and growing up in a world that feels like it does not belong to them. It is a journey of understanding and of seeing the world through the eyes of someone that ‘does not exist’ in society. This collection focuses on the imagination of childhood through sustainable and organic approaches to fashion design. Creating bio material from orange peel, using leather from the waste of the meat industry and collecting sea glass from the beaches of Wales, a collection is born from the depths of nature and it’s treasures.
