Hamburg-based designer Annkathrin Dreyer draws on influences from outerwear, casualwear, and
sportswear, combining them with historical references and cultural movements from both past and present.
At the core of her design practice lies an exploration of how seemingly opposing elements can be brought
together, complement one another, and create new forms of expression.

Annkathrin Dreyer‘s latest collection unbequem explores both historical and contemporary symbols of
feminist resistance, as well as the clothing associated with feminist activists. It doesn’t only focus on
specific garments or visual codes, but also on the broader social discourses behind them: questions of
visibility, sexualization, self-determination, and the politicization of the female-read body. In particular, the
controversy surrounding nudity within feminist activism – positioned between empowerment, provocation,
and appropriation – serves as a key theoretical point of reference for this collection.
