Threads of Who I Am – AMD Akademie Mode & Design

Threads of Who I Am is a collection that explores the heritage and cultural identity of the Colombia’s Caribbean Coast, through a journey of historical rediscovery and self-reflection. Inspired by craftsmanship, folklore, and oral tradition, it seeks to decode and bring forward the narratives hidden behind the curtains of colonialism and reveal the influence of ancestral origins and practices in today’s identity. Here, history is unravelled and rewoven. Its codes are released and stitched along a single thread, connecting symbols, folklore, textures, fibres, and craft into one single story. From mestizaje and on the path to syncretism, to the fusion of crafts, practices and sabor. This collection, through expressive and artisanal looks, where every look becomes a chapter of a larger story, traces the way heritage shaped and continues to shape identity and culture today.

Anne Kathrin Bodach, born in Barranquilla, Colombia with Colombian and German roots, completed her fashion design studies with a bachelor’s degree at the AMD Berlin in 2026 Her practice is driven by a deep commitment to craftsmanship and heritage, transforming traditional techniques and ancestral craft methods into bold, contemporary fashion statements. Her creations are an exploration of conceptual heritage, where artistry, storytelling, and craftsmanship come together, approaching textiles as emotional anchors and sculptural materials, using texture, contrast, and crafts to communicate stories of identity and memory. Her design philosophy centres on preserving and reimagining cultural heritage through innovative and contemporary forms of expression.
