BALARITY EXHWA – Fachhochschule Bielefeld

The BALARITY EXHWA collection embodies the union of opposites, bringing them into harmonious balance. It delves into the merging of distinctly different dress cultures: traditional Korean costume and modern archetypes found in younger Western fashion, such as streetwear. Utilizing techniques like screen printing and playing with illusion and reality, the collection offers an experience of transformation, identity, and cultural fusion.

Jennifer Stellwag is a fashion designer who received her bachelor’s degree in fashion design from Hochschule Bielefeld in 2024 and is currently studying for a master’s degree here. She loves to spark creativity in design through new ways of thinking and sustainable methods instead of always relying on new materials. She draws her inspiration from working with contrasts, which she puts together in balance and harmony. She is particularly enthusiastic about screen printing and experimental pattern development, which are reflected in her designs. For Jennifer, one thing is clear: fashion should not only look aesthetically pleasing, but also be thought-provoking. It is very important to her to show how aesthetics and environmental awareness can work together, because she firmly believes that sustainability enriches innovation rather than restricting it. In her design process, she actively works to reinterpret existing resources and design fashion responsibly.
