exuviae – Fashion Art Toronto

“exuviae”  brings together contrasting mediums—rigid, sculptural ceramics against soft, flowing textiles—highlighting the contrast between the two. It will follow an earthy colour palette, uses bold shapes, fabric manipulation, and repurposed materials to feel aged and lived-in. The focal point of the majority of looks will be oversized clay ceramic wearable pieces and jewelry, turning each look into something part garment, part object. It’s raw, maximal, and meant to feel more like a moving installation than a traditional runway show.

Based in Toronto, the brand Zoe Stone creates work that focuses on bold silhouettes, material experimentation, and pushing fashion beyond traditional expectations. The designs reshape the body through exaggerated proportions and sculptural forms, giving the models an otherworldly, almost alien presence.

The brand puts an emphasis on the use of esoteric and recycled fabrics,  often distressed or heavily manipulated to create a worn, lived-in feel. This is furthermore elevated by incorporating unconventional, natural materials such as clay. Through a palette of neutral, earth-based tones, the work highlights texture, form, and construction, allowing the materials and silhouettes to speak for themselves while reinforcing a raw, grounded aesthetic..
